To make the music carry on playing

For older versions of PowerPoint

Select your music file then Right click (not the usual left click) and select Custom Animation. You can do this by selecting Slide Show > Custom Animation

Then select Multimedia Settings afterwards and make sure that you have selected Continue Slide show You will then need to set the Stop Playing button and enter in the Stop Playing > After number slides the number of slides that you would like the music to play for.

If you are using PowerPoint XP the procedure is slightly different

Custom Animation > Right Click on Media and select Effect Options You will then need to set the Stop Playing button and enter in the Stop Playing > After number slides the number of slides that you would like the music to play for.

This feature is very nice, for example, if you want to show a long presentation at a trade show.

I hope that this helps

The best way I have found is to:

1–Go to slide transition
2–Go to modify transition
3–Go to Sound Choose other sound
4–Whatever the sound is music etc convert it to WAV
5– Then set Advance slide for however long you want
Cheers

To use music in a PowerPoint presentation – you should download it in an mp3 format.

For instructions on how to insert the music follow this link http://www.presentationhelper.co.uk/…oint_sound.htm

Yes I too need urgent help on how to play music all the way through presentation

Yeah I too need urgent help on how to play music all the way through the presentation.
I dont see the point of having music if it is only going to play for a limitied period on 1 slide. It is so anyoing there is not a easy way to play all ther way through presentation.

HELP!!! with music

I am putting together a slideshow that will include several songs. How many, I am not quite sure of yet. I plan to plug the songs in as I go, however starting out…I have a first slide and two slides following. I have added a sound link to the first slide. It is having that link continue to the rest of my chosen slides that I am having the problems with. I have followed the instructions that I received below, however I do not think my music files are WAV’s or MP3. How do I get them converted? or am I going about this the wrong way?
HELP!
Mandalin25

And if you use PowerPoint 20002/XP or PowerPoint 2003
Go to the slide where you want the sound to begin playing
Choose Insert, Movies and Sounds, then click Sound From Clip Organizer (or Sound From File) to insert the sound. If you don’t want the sound icon to appear in the slide show, drag it just off the slide.
Say yes when asked if you want the sound to play automatically. If you are not asked this, don’t worry, the next steps will let you set that (or double-check the settings if you were asked and said yes.)
Right-click the sound’s icon and pick Custom Animation from the popup menu. The Custom Animation pane will open and your sound file should be listed.
Click the arrow directly to the right of the sound icon to pull down the various options.
Select Effect Options, and on the Effects tab, click the radio button beside Stop Playing after *** slides. Put 999 in the box so the track will play throughout all your slides, even if you go back and forth among slides. PPT
considers each transition a "slide," so you want to put a large number in there.
Now check the settings in the Timing tab. To play automatically, the timing should be set to Start After Previous with a 0-second delay.Click OK to close the dialog box.[/quote]

what you do is within custom animation, left click your song. Click effect options. Where it says stop playing click after and then in the box beside it add in desired number of slides you want the song to play through.

Also, to make sure the song loops, left click the music icon and click on edit sound object. Click the box ‘loop until stopped’. In here you can also raise the volume, and hide the music icon.

Music will not play when emailed to other people

I added the music and it will play to the end of the last slide without restarting which is great. I increased the file size in options as well.

I then save as powerpoint show so that it cannot be altered when opened. However when I email it to other people, the music will not play at all.

HELP!

Relative Path for sound object

Need to upload a powerpoint presentation to an internet site with a linked sound (mp3) file. How can i specify a relative path for the sound object.?

Or how else can one include a sound object available on the internet to a powerpoint presentation?
