Picture Links?
Is there a way for pictures to be linked instead of embedded? The reason I ask is that I would like to simply change the name of the pic file instead of having to delete the current pic, etc….. I have a standard presentation with about 30 pics of half page size… Having to manually delete the existing pic, etc. is so time consuming… I have about 7 different booklets to creat this week, so time is limited in creating each booklet.

Not in the standard PowerPoint settings. Pictures are embedded in PowerPoint and linked.
It may be possible to do something using the control toolbox, in a similar way to how flash is linked/ embedded into PowerPoint. |

Found a way…
I found that if I create a rectangular autoshape, I can "fill" the rectangle with a pic file… Whew – that is nice. No more cutting, etc. To change the pic, simply format autoshape, colors and lines, color pulldown, fill effects, picture, then select picture… The picture will then be updated…
