Poem for my best friend's grandfather

Hello, hopefully someone can help me. My best friend's grandfather just passed away at the age of 84. She is going to be reading a eulogy at his service and asked me to help her find something. I found many nice poems, but she is looking for a poem that is appropriate for a funeral but also has to do with the sea, since he was in the U.S. Navy when he was a young man. I'd appreciate any help.

Thank you.

I am standing on the seashore,
A ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.
She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her
Till at last she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says:
She is gone.

Gone!
Gone where?

Gone from my sight that is all.

She is just as large in the masts, hull and spars, as she was when I saw her
And just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destination.
The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her.

And just at the moment when someone at my side says,
She is gone.
There are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout:
Here she comes.

That is dying.
A horizon and just the limit of our sight.

Lift us up, Oh Lord, that we may see further. (Bishop Brent 1862 - 1926)

A reminder that your Gramps has not always been old!
Hope it helps.

Grandma, you were just a girl,
So many years ago.
You had your loves and had your dreams,
You watched us come and go.

You watched us make the same mistakes,
That you had made before,
But that just made you hold us tight,
And love us all the more.

We haven't always thought about
The things that you have seen.
To us you've just been 'Grandma',
No thought of who you've been.

But we remember now in love,
Your life from start to end,
And we're just glad we knew you,
As Grandma, and as Friend.
