Funeral for a sister who was murdered

My husband's younger sister was murdered last Sunday. Her services are going to be in the next 1-2 weeks. He would really like to say something, but he isn't a really religious man so doesn't know what to say. She was his only sibling and was 3 years younger than he. She was the mother of 2 teenagers and an aunt, niece, granddaughter, daughter, sister-in-law and friend to many, many people. I don't write well enough to know what he can say at her funeral. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.

At the funeral you should concentrate on who she was, not how she died.

Her death, and how you have felt since, have only taken up a week, whilst everything that has happened before that has taken a lifetime.

She was his younger Sister, so he has known her all his life and will have lots of wonderfull, funny, heartwarming memories.

Similarly, she was the mother of 2 teenagers and an aunt, niece, granddaughter, daughter, sister-in-law and friend to many, many people. Amusing stories from these, showing just what a wonderful, amusing, attractive person she was, are the things you should remember during the funeral.

Those memories will never fade. Nobody will ever remember her old or infirmed. Everyone will always remember her vibrant and full of life. It's those memories you need to cherish.

Hope this helps.
