Try running the avi through Windows Media Encoder to convert to a standard codec wmv.

video no sound in powerpoint

Hi,

I encountered this problem one time. Now I told you how I do it, hope it helps.

1. I put all the WMV files and presentation in a same folder.

2. Then I reinserted all the WMV files to the presentation by another way.
At first, finding the hidden control Toolbox out in PowerPoint. Click Office button ->PowerPoint Options -> Popular -> tick "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon".
Secondly, Click "Developer', click the icon "More Controls" which is displayed as hummer and wrench in the Controls column.
Thirdly, at the appearing dialog, select "Window Media Player" and then click " ok".
Fourthly, you'll view that the cursor is change into cross. Just sing click the slide where you want to insert your WMV file. By
dragging you can set the size as you wish.
At last, right click the "Window Media Player" area, fill the file name of the WMV file in the URL box. For example, player.wmv.
