How to reduce file size, yet retain editing ability.

Sales presentations (combo of text & jpegs) run 170-200MB. These are unwieldly to handle and impossible to retrieve in timley manor via high speed line. Tried pdf, but must have edit ability in software and we don't. Tried jpeg conversion, but cannot fully edit (add text, correct spelling, etc).

Are there other ways to reduce a 200MB file to, say, 2-5megs and still have ability to edit??
