Cynthia

Do you have to give a presentation? Have you been given a topic for the presentation?

If so, make it visual and keep it reasonably short. Use pictures if you can. Preparing the presentation on pieces of card can be very effective.

The key would appear to be very positive and very confident in your delivery. This will come from as much rehearsing as you can.

Practice some of the answers for the inteview questions that you are likely to be asked
- What are your strengths?
- What are your weaknesses?
- Have you ever lost your temper?
- What is the best example of customer service that you have come across?
- What is the worst example of customer service that you have come across?

It may also be worth contacting any cabin crew people that you know - or can find on the internet to see if they have any tips.

There are some useful tips on the following web site
http://www.cabincrewjobs.com/interview.html

I would echo their thoughts that what you wear will be very important and that a smart jacket and skirt are essential as well as having a polished pair of shoes.

I hope that this helps

Kind regards

I don't know what questions they will ask - does anyone else have any advice on this?

As regards dress my advice would be to dress in a similar way to that of a cabin crew - coordinating suit (ladies jacket and skirt, gentlemen jacket and trousers). Shoes tend to be flat soled or flat heels. Make doubly sure that you have polished your shoes.

Make sure that your nails are nicely clean and that you hair is tidy - getting it cut the day before would not do much harm.

Also make sure that you come across as confident and don't apologise about your appearance.

There is also an article on what to wear on our main website , written by a professional image consultant http://www.presentationhelper.co.uk/what_to_wear.htm

I hope that this helps

I think that most of these are very straight forward answers that you need to give.

Why do you want to be part of cabin crew? - you love helping people and you love to travel - give examples.
Tell us a time where you gave good customer service and achieved good results? - only you can do this.
Why should we pick you for this job? - ask your friends and family to give you three reasons of why they think that you should be good for this job.

Cabin Crew

I have been a FA for 7 years so I don't know how much it's changed but I can give you one key piece of advice: They will ask you how many times you have called in sick in the last year- say "zero." If you even say "once" you will absolutely not get hired. I have a friend in HR at our airline and I know this is true.

Good luck. Oh, and if you want to see a great movie made by a flight attendant, go to www.theaviarymovie.com

Somebody once told me that one main question at a Cabin Crew interview is "-What do you say to or handle a passenger who is terrified of flying"?

stuggling with this one....

reasure them that everything is fine, tell them that thereisnothign to be terrified of and tell them what will happen (take off proccess) as they will be scared of not knowing what will happen. sit with the passenger and have a conversation to take their mind off their worries.

C'mon People!

C'mon everyone, these questions are common sense questions! I mean when you go into an interview you cannot have a script of how things go! It should be you 100% no script, sure you can be prepared by thinking in advanced, what are my strenghts and what are my weaknesses, why do I want to be a flight attendant.

Remember airlines are not looking for people who are just looking for a freebie, for instance the answer I want to be a flight attendant for all the travelling I can do.

Jonny.
Also ask them questions about themselves and their family during the conversation, find out things that they enjoy and get them talking about it, this will distract them from what is going on and befor they know it they will be in the air smooth sailing. Works everytime.

Sincerely,

Blessed & Highly Favored

Cabin Crew

Hi Cynthia,

I attended a one day course with a company called CCIS. It was absolutely brilliant, they teach you all the inside need to knows, things you would never think about yourself. The people were lovely and the day was really chilled out but you have loads of info to take in. You also get an information pack with stuff in so you are one step ahead when you get on your training course. I would recommend it big time, try and book a course. I now have two offers of summer contracts with airlines for 2007.

Web address is www.cabin-crew-information-services.co.uk

Good luck

hi everybody am a new member

i have studied about flight attendant and i will give some important notes:

to be acceptebale in the interview what you should do:

get more info about the company who invite you for the interview
1- the base of the company
2- the management
3- the general director.... everything is from the net

always remember that the company has a very good reputation
has very good staff even it's not a large company.

-it will be better to give a presentation more than 3 times at home with your serious friend -introduce your self and give more details about your studies and about safety - Service ....

customer service can give you advantages.
try to get info about aircraft configurations- about Announcements...

good luck

Hi, I have an Interview on tuesday with Aer Lingus too so I wish you the best of luck. I am just going to be myself, sell myself to them and tell them how much I have always wanted to work with such a great airline. I am going to come across confident happy and not too ****y if you get me. Sure will probably see u tuesday too and even though I am starting to prepare now, I still feel nervous which is only natural.

Just be yourself, there is a lot to the cabin crew interview as I have done them myself. The key is to just take part in the group activities and not just sit there with nothing to say, and in the personal interview make sure that you have examples of things like when you gave good customer service etc. They look for people that are confident and can be in a plane full of people for many hours, and who can cope in different situations. Anything and everything happens when you are in the air.
