Default Grouping, regrouping and animation order (oh my)

Hi, I'm new here and performed a cursory search but could not find an answer to my question.

Basically, I've created a slide with a number of grouped objects. Most of these objects contain both a text box and an image, and they are all animated and ordered. I am planning on duplicating this slide many times and when I do I will need to ungroup and change out the images, but I don't want to have to redo the animation order for each slide.

Is there anyway I can change the contents in a group without effecting the animation order?

Thanks.

It depends

Generally if you duplicate a slide - or you cut and paste objects from one slide to another then the animation will go across.

However once you start to group and ungroup objects you lose the animation and have to redo it again.

I have spent many hours redoing animations where we have wanted just to change a few images.
