dream job interview

I have an interview on Thursday and it is exactly the career move I have been hoping to make for ages. It is a press officer's position at the Charity Commission. I have to give a 10min presentation. I have never done one before! I have to explain how I would go about preparing a media plan for the commission to promote the commission's position on the amount charities spend on administration and fundraising. A statement detailing the position is given. I have never done a media plan before, I hardly know what it is!! I have no press office experience, I am a journalist, and I am so worried this will be a fatal disadvantage. How cand I stand out visually, no powerpoint or ohp allowed- just handouts. Are there any key do's and don'ts as well, and any tips on structure. I'm really panicking, not getting this job would be devastating...Please help!

Media Plan

I would suggest that a good move would be to see if you can talk to somebody in a similar job. Even a PR company may be able to give you a few pointers about what will need to go into a media plan.

You could also have a look for examples of a media plan to see waht would go into it. I typed "Media Plan" (including the quotes) into Google and came up with a number of examples of a high level plan.

Once you have the plan in your mind sketch it out as visually as you can and illustrate it visually.

I hope that this helps.
