Movie delay

Hi all
this is my first post so if I dent or break forum protocols please let me know. My problem seems a basic one at first and I have, I think, got round it in the past but for some reason on the presentation I am working on at the moment I cant clear the problem.
What I would like to do is to delay the appearance of a movie object on screen until other images have loaded, then run automatically.
What is happening now is as soon as the slide loads the black box for the movie object loads first before any other images. I would like to delay this until all other images have appeared on the slide so that it appears to show on tv.

...... with respect, you might need to tell us what software you have available before we try and help?

In Keynote it's a piece of cake, but you might be stuck using PowerPoint for all I know!

Yes I am stuck with PP and the camera I used to film the movie was a Sony HandyCam. The movie was put together in Windows Movie Maker but when imported to slide show I could not make the black box delay its appearance on screen until aall other relevant images had done so.

The presentation has been now used but would still like to know a solution.

That's it, basically. I emailed a presentation which came to less than 10 mbs. My contact opened it up Ok and the slides etc were fine. Pictures came out well, so did text. But the movies I had downloaded and which work fine on my original PowerPoint presentation simply don't play, either automatically or when clicked on. I checked with my original presentation to ensure they were all playing and then emailed the lot again. Still no joy. Is this because in calculating the Megabytes on the email message, the system does not take account of inserted movies. I must admit, I was amazed to see that my 162 slide presentation, with words, pictures and videos, came to only 9.55MB!

for Douglass - is two slides. One with everything coming in in the order you want and then another one with everything already on, adding the video.

Cheap and dirty? Yes, but it works!

My guess is that you've not sent him the video when you emailed the presentation.

Chances are - especially from your small file size evidence - that the video was simply linked and not embedded. Therefore PPT would find it, no problem, on your hard drive, but when it looked on the other person's HD there was no such file.

If I'm right (and I'm guessing) you'll need to send the file over and make sure it's in the same place (directory structure etc.) on the other machine as it was on yours.
