Running for Head Boy

Hello all,

I am new to this site, so nice to meet you all

I’m a shortlisted candidate for Head Boy, and I’ll have to give an election speech this thursday. Both teachers and students (years 11, 12 and 13) vote in our school, with each body taking up 50% of the whole voting population, so naturally my speech will have to appeal to both these groups.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Difficult to put forward advice on his one, but I would suggest that you keep it light hearted. It may be worth while asking some of your teachers is they have any ideas on what the topic should be – what works and what does not work. You may even be able to get one of them to coach you.

I would definately suggest that you spend a lot of time in rehearsal as this will be one of the key attributes.

If you get any feedback please let us know, as this topic comes up every year and it would be nice to have some specific advice on the topic etc.
