New Davisor Offisor 4.0 Now Converts All Office Files, Including Excel
Customers Can License Just The Transformations They Need Davisor, the leading developer of Java-based dynamic document conversion and data visualization tools, today announced a solution to convert all Microsoft Office files, including Excel, into XML. The new Offisor 4.0 converts legacy Word (with images), RTF and PowerPoint and Excel files into easy to search and index XML, which can then be transformed further into HTML and xHTML. In the near future, all these Office files containing dynamic data can be transformed also into RTF and PDF. "We are proud to introduce Offisor 4.0, which now covers all Office file formats," says Pasi Nummisalo, CEO at Davisor. "Companies have huge repositories of legacy Office files that keep growing every single day. Documents, presentations, spreadsheets — all containing important information that too often is not found when needed. Offisor 4.0 allows them to convert all that data into XML for easy search and retrieval." To continue its commitment to meeting the different needs of its different customers, Davisor has released three different license packages of the new Offisor 4.0, so that its customers can license just the transformations they need. Offisor 4.0 XML edition contains transformations from DOC, PPT, XLS and RTF into XML, whereas Offisor 4.0 HTML edition transforms DOC and XLS into (x)HTML, and Offisor 4.0 XML & HTML includes all of these transformations. In addition, customers can license only single transformations for OEM use. Davisor already offers Publishor for converting Word documents containing dynamic data into PDFs. "With our forthcoming new Publishor version, our customers can publish all Office file formats easily in correctly sized PDFs. This way they can create Office templates for invoices, forms, brochures, product sheets, etc. and be able to always print them correctly, even in Chinese and other double-byte characters. Our Webisor product already does that for complex dynamic HTML documents, converting them automatically into PDFs." Thanks to Java, all Davisor products, including Offisor 4.0, are platform-independent solutions, which can be either embedded into any application or used independently with powerful command line functions |
