persuasive speech on an issue...

I'm doing this for a grd 12 highschool class and I need to write a speech - on anything that is an issue... that will bring goodness to the community or world or school... something like that. I've got an idea - composting, recycling... something like that - along the lines of making all publishing companies use recycled paper for all books. Can someone help me expand on that? I also need a famous quote... where can I find a famous quote on recycling?

Quote possibility...there is a quote about hearing a tree fall in the woods (something like "If a tree falls in the woods, can you hear it?" . Maybe you can use that quote along the lines of saying...if we have no more trees...there will be no trees to hear falling...OR, You definitely will be able to hear it if there are only two trees left in the forrest.

As far as the recycle paper....another option is not to use trees in the first place...I hate to tell a high school person to look up hemp. But, hemp is considered a good option to make paper, clothes etc...It unfortunately is also a drug that can be used illegally...causing quite a dilema.
