Unable to add video clips to PowerPoint

HI

I have been trying to add a short video file to a presentation I am making, with no success! Whenever I add a MPG AVI or WMV the video plays with a green screen sometimes I get the sound.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Jason, What video editing software or other method are you using? How big is the video file? What version of PP do you have and type of PC? Bernard

First off, video files are not embedded in 2007 but linked so check that the avi files are on the new computer. Other issues it could be:
codec problem - see if the avis run in the mci player (PowerPoint uses this to run videos, not Windows Media Player)
file path length problem - try moving ppt and avi to the same folder directly on your C drive then reinsert the avi

I more prefer to WMV and MPG.What im using is PavTuBe Video Converter.
With it, videos from DVs or camcorders (*.mod, *.tod, *.mts shot with JVC, Panasonic, Cannon, Sony cam etc.), TiVo (*.tivo), DVDs (*.vob, *.mts, *.m2ts, etc.), YouTube (*.flv, *.f4v), etc. can be converted to files supported by popular portable devices like iPod, iPhone, iPad, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, 3G phones, Xbox, Apple TV, WD TV and so on.

In addition, the output videos can also be imported to Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas for further editing; be inserted to PPT for presentation; or even be uploaded to YouTube for sharing.

Sometimes you get sound only,try click the right mouse button, properties> Settings> Advanced>Trouble shoot Hardware acceleration None.

You'd better insert wmv files.
