Multiple master design works but not text format!

Hi,
I am having a problem with multiple masters. I am working on both mac & pc I have a few problems that I would do backflips for anyone who can answer them!

: I have designed my own templates. They have images and text boxes that are set to certain colors and font sizes. 4 different ones.
I have them saved in one presentation as 4 different masters. The goal is to apply them to ANOTHER presentation that just has text. What i need is to apply the designs I have made, to the slides that are with no design and just text, and have both the images of the design that i made appear, and the text that is already on the slide change to the format that i have on my master slides. I seem to be able to apply my masters and the "design" aspects will take but not the way the text boxes are formatted. that will not work. does that mean i have to format each text box 1 by 1, that CANT be possible!

I will open another presentation that has mostly text that is not formatted and has no slide designs. It is sent to me by my company. i want to apply these 4 designs that i made to different slides and have the formatting that i assigned to each one apply as well. It seems like on pc. I can simply drag my 4 design slides into the new presentation and the masterslides copy over and appear on the right as new slide designs. Very simply, I can select the slide i want to apply the new slide desin to and say "appy to selected slide" THE DESIGN APPEARS BUT THE FORMATTING DOES NOT. tHE SLIDES WILL NOT SEEM TO FORMAT TO THE WAY I WANT THEM TO? only the design, like any text or images that i have on the master will show up. but the formatting does not.

ON MAC. it seems it is much harder to work with slide masters. if I drag 4 of my slide design (which are also saved as masters) to a new presentation with just text, the masters do copy over. But to apply them to the slides in the presentation seems very difficult. In pc, you have a box that youy can open in the right sideof powerpoint that automatically shows u slide master designs. u can easily use these masters by selecting the slide u wish to apply the design to, then click on the arrow of that design in the right hand side, and say apply to current slide. BUT NOT IN MAC.
it seems you have to save each design as a design template and then go through format, slide design, then apply to selected slides. However, in both mac and pc, the design will show up but not the formatting of the text.
all of my slide masters have images and formatted text on them.
the slide that i am applying the designs to will accept the images, but NONE OF THE FORMTTED TEXT?
why is that??
HEEELLLP!!

thanks!

My best guess is the slides you have been given have the text in extra text boxes, not as the text boxes that are part of the master slides. If you go into Slide Layout and reapply the correct slide layout, the master text boxes should pop up on the screen. My bet is your text is still floating around on its own because it was not originally created in the "correct" text boxes.

To fix, first reapply the slide layout as I suggested. Then copy the text from the original box to the correct one that appeared from the master. Make sure the old text boxes are deleted. Then, reapply the slide layout one more time. The copied text should reformat correctly.

So part of your frustration may stem from how the slides you were given were created.
