Slideshow mode reverts to edit mode

When in slideshow (powerpoint 2000) mode after a minute or two it reverts back to the edit page. So I go back to view slideshow and after a minute or two it goes back to edit mode and so on and so forth. I have installed all available office updates. How do I make it stay in slideshow mode???

Just possible that it may be a hardware problem, like a sticky key opr a sticky mouse.

Other than that you could always try reinstalling PowerPoint which may help a bit.

Make sure that you take the opportunity to back up all of your work first.

I've duplicated the problem on 3 laptops...

Is it happening with any presentation or a particular presentation? Does it happen on a particular slide each time? If so...temporarily eliminate that slide and see if it continues...If it does not continue...I recommend "remaking the slide", that way if there is something hidden on that particular slide, you might eliminate it by recreating it from scratch.

I've reinstalled PPT a few times. It happens with any PPT I open on any slide.
