Sales Interview - Selling myself

Hi,

I have an interview for an area sales manager posistion in a couple of weeks. I have been asked to perform a 10 minute powerpoint presentation in which I have to sell myself to the interviwer.

Have you got any advice on how I can structure the presentation and what sort of headings I should include.

Sorry, I should also add that my interview is at my current company for a more senior position.

I am currently a technical sales co-ordinator (office based role) and the new role is a field sales role.

The interviewer will be looking at your capability to jump from a co-ordination role into a field sales role. They will be asking themselves is you have the capabilities to make the jump.

How about this approach

1. Write down on a piece of paper what you think are the characteristics of a field sales person in your company e.g. sociable, can open doors, good with people, able to take knock backs, hard working, good at selling.

2. Go and collect feedback from other people about how they view your characteristics. Write down their feedback.

Then present what you tink are the three key characteristics and illustrate them with a story and add in some of the feedback from other people.

It will make a lot more impact if Tim says that I am good at selling - than if you say it about yourself.
